La Palma is a trekker's paradise. There are some top class routes on the island that pass through some of the most spectacular natural landscapes on the planet. The island attracts thousands of walkers, trekkers and climbers each year. It has developed a reputation for being one of the best places to go walking in Spain. There's a massive variety of walks to choose from on this small island and no matter what kind of condition you're in you'll find something to suit you.
Many experienced walkers plan their own routes and just head off on their own. But, if you're less experienced you'd be better off going with a group. There are a number of local companies who specialise in group walking tours and there are literally hundreds of kilometers of marked footpaths which criss-cross the island.
