La Palma's coastline is widely considered to be the most dramatic of the Canary Islands. It has some stunning untouched beaches with black volcanic sand and crystal clear waters.

The Atlantic Ocean can be fearsome, but spectacular from a safe distance. La Palma has strong ocean currents with powerful waves which can be very dangerous for swimming. Care should be taken at all times.
