This is the original La Palma walking route. Thousands of people do it every year. Along the way you'll pass through the largest dragon tree wood on the island. In Spanish they're called 'Dragos' trees. You'll also see huge areas populated by tree-heather and ferns.

The views along the way are quite spectacular. From the mirador at La Tosca you can see the villages of Gallegos, Franceses, El Tablabo and all along the steep coast down to the ocean.

When you get to Los Gallegos village, the route crosses a huge ridge and ravine and ends up at the caves where the original Canary islanders lived. If you go on an organised tour, it usually includes a visit to a goat farm where you can taste some authentic local cheese for free.
